Re: Natural Cleaning Recipes
OK, So now after using the laundry detergent with grated FelsNaptha, I want to change to Dr. Bronners grated soap. ANYONE tried this???
I want to use the baby mild. My son has sensitive skin and I think the Fels is bothering him and my grandmother. I can order in Dr. Bronner's in bulk, and wanted to get some tea tree and the baby mild. One for sensitive and one for disinfection. I was hoping someone had tried Dr. B bar in the laundry before I place my order. Thanks.

Re: Natural Cleaning Recipes
I havent used the grarted Dr. B's, but I have used the liquid (cant find the bar around here) It works great and has a nice clean scent. i think as long as the bar dissolves, it should be fine.

Re: Natural Cleaning Recipes
We use lemon EO on a rag over our broom to sweep cobwebs and deter spiders
We also use clove oil (5-10 drops in a spray bottle of water) to clean mould from wood/furniture/laminate. We have just had 3 weeks of rain and live on a mountain so have had a serious mould problem. This really has helped kill the spores |

Re: Natural Cleaning Recipes
Unless I totally missed it:
What do you all use for cleaning your floors? Just vinegar and water? |

Re: Natural Cleaning Recipes
I have a book called Green Home Clean Home that has a lot of homemade cleaning recipes, plus many great tips on cleaning and general housekeeping with natural products. It's my go to book for just about everything - laundry, floor cleaners, pest control...

Re: Natural Cleaning Recipes
I think the Duggars recipe say that the dry detergent is front loader friendly? I use the liquid version and I just use Ivory instead of Fels-Naptha.
I just recently made my own Dishwasher detergent. Equal parts Super Washing Soda and Borax. I put it in an old pop bottle and shake it to mix and then use two little capfuls in the locking wash cup. Then I add a little bit of hot water to that and close it up. It has cleaned very well and no dry soap on any of the dishes! I also use vinegar in the rinse section. I use vinegar.for.EVERYTHING. I have probably four bottles that are mainly vinegar and water with a dash of soap. This is my main cleaner but I m soooo excited to try some of the other ones that have been mentioned. The vinegar sprays are great because my DS (5) can help clean if he wants Does anyone know if the peppermint scrub will take off soap scum and rings from the tub?

Re: Natural Cleaning Recipes
Thanks so much for this thread, I've spent the past week attempting to throw out all my Lysol, Mr. Clean etc and go natural. My hubby things I'm nuts, but with a little one now licking everything it makes me a bit uneasy to be using harmful stuff. I'm trying to get to the point where I have zero chemical cleaners in my home but it's hard!
