Are the Pearls growing?

All of a sudden I am hearing more and more and more from/about the Pearls in even more liberal Christian circles. They are constantly saying that their "ministry" is growing, and being "blessed".. Is anyone else finding a disturbing trend, or have the people in my peer group gone mad?

I have 8 friends on facebook that "like" no greater joy, and I have had their newsletter and material recommended to me 3 times in the last month, by people I would have thought could have seen through his filth.

And, is it only me, or does MP seem just a tad obsessed with sex?

This is soo discouraging to me.. I feel like shaking people and yelling "cant you see what he is saying????" The most recent article he wrote was a response to teachings of his, in which he openly denies saying things 'I' have read...

Its almost like he has left the most sickening things he has said, only to draw more people in to his sickness.

that people are really not being pulled into this nonsense.

, haven't heard anything different other than the fact my church....Calvary Chapel of Phoenix..(HUGE mega-church) had a young married's woman study on CTBHHM

I was so yuck about it I came very close to talking to the Pastor, but I didn't have the wherewithall to do it....
I just haven't gone back in a while....

I'm reminded of the bible verse about the end times]

For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.

IDK, but it did infiltrate my church.

I can't figure out if it was our pastor & his wife who brought it in two years ago (they came here from Georgia) or if another mom was the one who happened to stumble upon it (she reads EVERY punitive Christian parenting book). Outside of GCM, I had never encountered the Pearls before the second mom started recommended TTUAC to all the other parents at our church.

MP does seem to focus on sex a lot. I was on NGJ a long time ago...after he had a heart attack?..and he made a point of commenting something along the lines of he's still very ''verily''(sp?) tho he's had a heart attack. Gross. Who cares??

I dunno about the Pearl's ministry growing. It's not come up in my circle of friends. Which doesn't mean anything LOL

I have a rebuttal to that article here.

I am finding more and more people speaking out against the Pearls' teachings. I even have a mainstream tag for mentions of the Pearls in mainstream media. It's very sad that so many are buying into it. We'll just have to keep spreading the word.

I seriously hope they are not growing! Im a member of Anti Pearls page on facebook and if any of you have fb I think you should join too. It literally sickens me to read the stuff that they recommend parents do to their children!

I haven't heard of the Pearls. I know one family that is openly Tripp and I heard a Tripp book recommended on the radio once. There's still lots of Dobson around, but that's about the extent of what I've heard in meatspace.

I have never heard of the Pearls anywhere except online. I think only one time before here (from when they were in the news...).

I don't even hear of them in my homeschooling groups. Lots of Babywise and GWGW, but no Pearls.

Michael Pearl is

totally obsessed with sex. To the point of it being

creepy, quite aside from anything else about him. That obsession combined with his constant harping on

beating children is my definition of "sick puppy".
