Oh, I found a good resource for The Maker's Diet! - update
http://makersforum.com/v-web/portal/73/
It's new but has some good information on it. The forum is strictly on the Maker's Diet and a book called Holy Cow. BTW How many here are doing this diet? I have been doing a slightly altered version of the Maker's Diet.... I didn't want to weigh myself, just in case I hadn't lost yet but I broke down and weighed myself anyway. I have lost 5 pounds, at least. Yeah! That was my afternoon weight. I'm sure in the morning it will be a couple pounds more that I've lost. PS FYI If you decide to visit the above mentioned site, I'm Sozo, which is greek for "Saved". |

Re: Oh, I found a good resource for The Maker's Diet!
Dh and I are planning to do the diet. It would be such a huge turn-around for us, it's a bit overwhealming. And I'm not sure if I can do it yet, since I'm breastfeeding. I will check out the forum for sure!
Thanks. |

It is overwhemling. I'm having a hard time with it. It is absolutely a life-changer. I'd have to throw away like 75% of our food. I wouldn't think the bfing would be a problem (I'm bfing too), since you're still eating. The author did say the nursing women should not fast, though.

Re: Oh, I found a good resource for The Maker's Diet!
We started it last fall and then we moved and things got hectic . . . you probably know the rest of the story
But, I really want to get back on it. For me, the hardest part is giving up chocolate (because of the sugar) and the high price of organic foods. We buy 80-90% organic, but it's a budget buster! As far as BFing, I plan to start on Phase II and not do any fasting. My DD is 15 months. When she was younger and not on any solids, I started with Phase III. |

Re: Oh, I found a good resource for The Maker's Diet!
We are doing it also! And I nurse as well. We are starting phase 3 now and haven't had any problems. We don't fast though. I think the biggest concern with this diet and breastfeeding is if you have a really small baby. DD is almost 20 months old though. So, I really felt that it was fine for us to do. DD does well on Phase 3 herself, plus nursing. I think it's probably the healthiest diet in the world for a child! We did NOT put her on phase one or two.
Also, we did an accelerated version of the diet. We only did each phase for one week instead of the recommended two. He notes that if you're already healthy that by just doing phase one for a few days then remaining on phase three, that you'll still reap many benefits. And we have! Thanks for the link! I have lots of questions like....how on earth do you sprout or soak potatoes and corn? As well as seeds and grains and stuff? Mandy
