dressmaking - for the nursing mom
Right before I got pregnant, I had picked out the perfect fabric and was about to cut out this https://www.colettepatterns.com/catalog/chantilly Z was (and still is) nursing but not much during the day when we're out of the house so I thought I could get away with it. Well that's obviously not happening any time soon now. I've transferred some of my energies into ideas for little girl dresses, but I still want to make something for myself. Most nursing friendly dresses, which are already hard to come by and usually boring, are knit fabrics which I don't like sewing. I have so much fabric like voiles that are screaming dresses. So, anyone found any cute patterns that are nursing friendly or could be made so? I've made a tank dress work by adding a button placket down the front but that only looks ok on some styles.

Re: dressmaking - for the nursing mom
hmm i was going to say that dress would be pretty easy to make maternity, but not nursing friendly..... the only nursing friendly dresses i have found are the wrap dresses. but you usually use knit fabric,

Re: dressmaking - for the nursing mom
I made a wrap dress out of woven fabric that I could make work, I just had to wear a tank under it.

Re: dressmaking - for the nursing mom
That particular pattern I don't see being adaptable to nursing, but if it was more of a peasant style neckline with elastic, you might be able to pull it down under a breast to nurse. It could still be gathered across the bust and have a fitted waist.
