Default Almond flour

What is the deal with almond flour and phytates? Is there such thing as almond flour made from sprouted or soaked nuts? (Available, for purchase, that is. I know I could probably make it myself.)

I don't know of one. That's why I try to use my soaked almonds as much as possible. But we go through so much AF, I just can't keep up, so I buy the Bob's Red Mill stuff.

Same with a vitamix, if you have one. It's the soaking and drying of the almonds that takes up the time.

My homemade almond flour never turns out as well as the store bought stuff, even in my vitamix. And since blanched almonds are way more expensive, I just buy the blanched almond flour at the farmer's market for $4.99/lb, but I've heard Trader Joes now has BLANCHED almond meal/flour for $2.99/lb!

I'll have to check next time I go shopping. I buy Trader Joe's almond meal, but I don't think it's blanched. The kind I buy is $3.99 a lb, and I find that it works well for what I need.

This page http://detoxinista.com/2012/04/make-...-almond-flour/ says you can make almond flour by using the slivered, blanched almonds at Trader Joe's ($2.49 for half a lb.).

I'd buy it for that price too! Almond flour here is $11.99/lb.
