French Toast

Does anyone have a vegan nor lacto-veg french toast recipe? I remember seeing on on the old board.

Something about bananas I think.

If you have it or even just remember it had this and that in it, I'd appreciate you sharing it with me! I've determined that I'm either allergic to eggs or my body needs a serious break from them, so of course I'm majorly craving french toast.

For a totally vegan one, I've used the recipe that is just bananas in the blender with whatever seasonings you want (cinnamon, vanilla, etc). You dip the bread in there and voila! That's the whole batter. You can also add some fake milk to that if you'd like

I haven't tried either of them, but both "Vegan with a Vengeance" by Isa Chandra Moskowitz and "Vive le Vegan!" by Dreena Burton have french toast recipes. One uses silken tofu, the other uses soy milk and chickpea (besan) flour. I could PM you the recipes if you like.

We use cashew butter blended with soy milk and cinnamon to taste. The ratio is 1/4 cup cashew (or almond) butter with 2/3 cup soy milk.
