Does your tree need a Golden Snitch, too?
Because mine totally did, and I wasn't overly happy with any of the patterns, so I made one.
And then I wrote the pattern out for everyone to use http://whatareyoumakingnow.com/flyin...-silver-wings/ |

Re: Does your tree need a Golden Snitch, too?
I love it. I would definitely have to make a couple for my big kids too, to make sure they didn't steal the one off the tree. I'm having to check out the Estonian cast-on. I didn't think I had heard of the Emily Ocker cast-on, but I just watched the video, and I've always called it the pin-hole cast-on didn't know it had another name!

Re: Does your tree need a Golden Snitch, too?
Yay Hufflepuffs! :badger:
Re: the Estonian cast-on, I wanted something that would flex with the wing and not produce a rigid line. You could probably get away with a backwards loop cast-on, or a slipknot cast-on, too. I love how there are different names for so many cast-ons and bind-offs (nerdy dream: come up with one named after me, one day ) ---------- Post added at 08:06 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:00 PM ---------- By the way, this hasn't made it to full pattern status yet, but here's the badger chart I made when The Boy asked me (less than a week before his birthday!) for a doubleknit Hufflepuff hat for the opening of Fantastic Beasts And here's how it looks, being modeled at his party (he was having fun, just reallly concentrating ) |

Re: Does your tree need a Golden Snitch, too?
Oh I need to make a Hufflepuff hat for me. That is definitely where I am as well. And I will admit to being a bit unhappy when after reading the first book ( advanced copy in the US before there was any inkling of this being a thing) my mom told me that I was a Hufflepuff.

Re: Does your tree need a Golden Snitch, too?
So cute! I poo-pooed Harry Potter for a long time. Never read the books or saw the movies. But I got curious about it and started reading through it with my girls last year, and now we are all die-hards. We are going to Universal in January just to go to the Harry Potter world!

Re: Does your tree need a Golden Snitch, too?
Stacy, I heard so much about how evil they were for so long that I completely avoided them...and then my kiddo asked me why he couldn't read them, but *could* read Narnia, and LOTR, and watch Doctor Who.
I didn't have a good answer So I started reading them, and fell in love! Universal/the Wizarding World is on my bucket list; I'd love to see pics from your trip! |
