Help me pick a Vitamix or something similar...
We are experimenting with GF and are wanting to take a nice blender/juicer/food processor/mill with us when we leave the states for a couple years. I need it to grind grains and all the other normal processing and blender stuff.
I'm most interested in the Vitamix, but am not sure what model to buy. We need a wet and dry container and I am fine with buying used. Anyone have recommendations on which model they like? Or other blender recs? |

Make sure you get one that is 220v because they don't work well through adapters.

Mostly just
I don't have one yet, but have done lots of reading & settled on a Vitamix, too. I've been told that you don't *need* the wet and dry containers, you can just use the wet for the dry stuff, too.....but it'll scratch it all up and it won't look pretty.

Expatmom, really?! That makes sense. I've used (and a fair bit of our community as well) has kitchen aids, etc. that they run through a conveyer with no problems. I suppose I should just buy this item locally then....it's just so much more $$$ then.

I can't remember which yahoo group you are on, but the organic one had lots of posts about vitamixes. A local friend bought me a blender with a vitamix motor that was awesome and would grind anything.
