The Kitchen table
Does anyone else go back to the kitchen no matter the set up? We have an awesome set up downstairs but we always end up going back to the table.

Re: The Kitchen table
Usually yeah. My kids want me to set up our downstairs as a homeschool room again but when we had it that way no one wanted to use it anyway.

Re: The Kitchen table
We use our dining room table, but yes...Even when I had a nice little nook set up for crafting and school in the basement, we always ended up carrying stuff up to the dining room table. It's brighter and I can bake snacks and make meals when they work at the dining room table.
Growing up we always did school at the kitchen table as well.

Re: The Kitchen table
A homeschool room would have been wasted space for us.My dd used the table,my ds preferred a specific recliner and used a tray table to write on

Re: The Kitchen table
Yes, we have extra rooms in this house. But, we always end up at the table or the couch which is in the main living area.

Re: The Kitchen table
Yeah, I was so excited when I realized we had extra rooms. I totally made a homeschool room. I ended up making it into a play room because then I wouldn't have to see any messes the kids make if I am too tired

Re: The Kitchen table
I thought homeschool rooms were for storage, not working in.

Re: The Kitchen table
Overall I have no desire for a separate HS space. The only thing I dont like is our TV is also in the living room area which combines with the dining room and only "table" area the whole space is fairly small.. I love the coziness. I dont love how "front and center" the TV is. MOving it out is out honestly there isn't another area for it. We dont want to get rid of it either. It of course stays off during school time unless its being used as part of the lesson which is rare. However even off its a distraction. Ideally we'd at least have it behind cabinet doors but I haven't come across anything appropriate. or affordable.
Id also love to reconfigure our china cabinet (ideally replace its pretty shotty ) so it could house our most used school supplies so we'd have everything in one spot.. Not sure where the dishes would go though?? I table though plays a vital role for sure.

Re: The Kitchen table
I often cover ours with a pretty vintage tablecloth during the day. Just hang it over the front. I don't know why but it works.
