Cat waking up at wee morning hours
Have any of you who have felines experienced yours to wake you up at say 4:30 AM singing the song of his/her people? My Callie is driving me BONKERS! She has been waking us up since last Thursday, like clockwork any time between 0415 and 0430. Split sleep is NOT conducive to getting anything productive done during the day. Thanks in advance for the input.

Re: Cat waking up at wee morning hours
Hugs. That's all I've got.
Besides a sick kitty who urinates (with blood) in my kitchen, my closet, at the front, patio, and garage doors, in front of the a/c intake & in my bathroom ! The vet gave her antibiotics but no dice. Trying again this week Sorry that's not what you're looking for; It's what I thought when I read "cat... wee" Hope you can sleep through the night soon! |

Re: Cat waking up at wee morning hours
All the cats I've ever had wake up in the night but not all of them were singers.
My first wanted desperately to be an out all night cat and had to be locked in a room sometimes. My next one sang when he was young but mellowed with age... my next two (females) didn't sing at all... my current cat only meows twice and waits then goes off to sleep somewhere. Possible reasons.... hungry (leave a dish of kibble out overnight), wants to go outside (maybe get a cat flap if this is an indoor/outdoor cat), lonely... (close your doors or have a designated area to close the cat into.. or get darker curtains as the light might tell the cat its time to get up), bored (more toys?) |

Re: Cat waking up at wee morning hours
That is pretty typical cat behavior. Maybe it feels spring coming on .
Sorry that isn't much help.

Re: Cat waking up at wee morning hours
Funny you should mention confinement. . .she's kennel trained and that's where she wants to sleep.
Last night she did fine. Not sure what is up with this silly kitty! Quote:
