Use canned. It tastes much better. We have tried home cooked and it doesn't work.

Last time we had no pickles. We used jalapeno olives instead and it was yummy and turned it slightly pink

That sounds delicious! I really want to try this, but I don't care for mayo... anytime I made tuna salad, I used ranch dressing instead of mayo - I wonder if I could substitute ranch for mayo, and cut back on some of the other seasonings? I'll try it, it can't hurt.

This is one of my favorite sandwich spreads. I like it with lettuce and black pepper. I'm cooking a batch of chickpeas today, looks like I may have to leave some out for lunch.

I think I'm going to try this in a multigrain wrap with a little cheese for lunch. Maybe even heat it slightly, kinda like a tuna melt?

---------- Post added at 12:32 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:57 AM ----------

I did this for lunch and it was great - 2 T of ranch instead of any mayo - wonderful flavor. I'll definitely be trying this again!
