Re: Rental- owner response time?
Thanks, Esperanza!
I know there are home mold testing kits. Not sure if DH and I should look into that or what? This is so annoying. Sometimes I wish we'd stayed in our apartment.

Re: Rental- owner response time?
Before you start spending your own money, I'd call your local tenant resource center to ask what your rights are. Even if you did it yourself and it came up positive, I bet that the owners would want to do their own testing. Seems to me that you should have a legal right to testing, but you'd have to check on your state's laws.

Black spots in a bathroom are almost always mildew. I wouldn't insist on a pro but that's just me.

Re: Rental- owner response time?
Back when we were in our apartment we had leak in the AC unit which happened to be located upstairs and could be accessed through an upstairs small closet.. Water would collect and run over the drip pan below and down into the kitchen area over the stove.. The leak went unfixed so long our kitchen celling was just moments from collapsing.. We did everything we could to get the land lord over to fix the issue.. In the mean time to try and prevent total distruction we personally baled out the water from the drip pan about every 4 hours AROUND the clock.. If forbid we over slept or was away from home for more than 4 hours it leaked..
FINIALY he came like months later walks in looks up and says.. hum that's not nearly as bad as you were making the problem sound. Yea you think? Couldn't have had anything to do with the fact we baled water around the clock for months? Oh and yea that much water was also causing some serious molds it was just gross.. We had property management in the last rental home we had decide they weren't going to fix electricity problems in the main area of our home.. So for like the last almost year we lived there we had no way to turn on the lights throughout the living and kitchen area. They just decided it was too much trouble to fix. They also made us pay the water bill (fine) except they included a sprinkler system that went of twice a day rain or shine and often sprung leaks that wouldn't be fixed for hours.. Once when we shut it off because it been leaking into the street for hours.. We got a threaten to evict notice over the event.. Yea... You never know what a rental is going to be like. Hugs

The roofer was supposed to come yesterday. Didn't show. I emailed the property manager agent lady, and she seemed really frustrated that the roofer didn't come. I should mention that after I told her I was pregnant, she came to the house and cleaned mildew off the lower half of the ceiling that she could reach.
