Something like this would be perfect. I see no reason to hold your tongue. In fact, I see alot of reasons for making your position perfectly clear and concise. You do not have to continually debate this.

oooh. i had my dad's wife and a friend of hers (from church) conspire to give me a photocopied chapter out of some book..subject:spanking.

my son was 1 !!!! and terminally shy! they interpreted it as a "needs more spankings issue
i say you should confront, i never had the guts.

I'm not sure I would have the energy to deal with that. It looks like you are dealing with SN from your siggy. My motto with my SN child is that I really just don't have room in my life for people who are not supportive. Dealing with SN is hard enough. I'm sorry. You don't have to defend your parenting to them.

My reaction would be far less gracious and Godly..... and would probably involve a set of matches and my fire pit.....

IIRC she hasn't laid off the Pearls for a long time. I'm wondering what it would be like for you to tell them that if they can't support you in your parenting, to protect your kids you'll take a step back from relationship?

No she hasn't. Dad and she raised me from 13 to 18 Dobson-ish. Raised my kid brother Ezzo/Pearls.

Unfortunately DD was Ezzofied by me and my parents before I knew better.

That makes me so sad. My aunt suggested them to me when I got married and I did receive the NGJ magazines for a while. I never listened to them... it was more of a reading it like I was watching a car accident or something.

Oh yeah, the CTBHHM book stepmom bought for me has been lost in the house somewhere. LOL! I do plan on using it as kindling for the fireplace this winter. ha ha ha

I guess I do need to find some humor. The catalog made it's way into the trash last night!

So sorry that happened to you. You're doing a great job parenting. Don't mind them...although I know it's hard to have such a huge belief difference from your parents. Maybe they'll see that you are a brick wall and they'll get tired and give it up if they can't respect your boundary.

ETA: I could provide you with some more fireplace kindling for the winter if you need it.
