How long for adult to recover from ear infection?
I have been on antibiotics for seven days now. I felt really good yesterday. Today, I'm back with fever, chills, and earache. How long does it typically take an adult to recover from an ear infection? It was double, in both ears.

If you were feeling better and suddenly got worse, go back to your doctor and get rechecked.

Re: How long for adult to recover from ear infection?
I'm better again...meaning no fever, no chills, and no searing pain. I do still have a good bit of pressure in the ears and the crinkling noise. If that doesn't clear up by about Wednesday, I might go in to get her to look again. I still have lots of congestion, so I'm guessing some amount of fluid is in my ears too...

Re: How long for adult to recover from ear infection?
Ear infections can take a while...you should start feeling a bit better after a few days on antibiotics. I would suggest taking some Sudafed to help with drainage of the eustation tube along with tylenol. Warm compress several times a day along with some garlic oil in the ear. Just sautee some fresh garlic in some EVOO till it oozes, cool and put drops in ear several times a day.
