Is canning is scary as I think it is? I'm scared to invest in canning stuff and suck at it

I'd love to make some jams and chutneys and tomato sauces

Canning is super easy, especially if you mostly do jams/jellies/preserves and use a hot water bath rather than a pressure cooker. I do some things in the pressure canner though and it isn't as hard as it seems. I love to can. I have my grandmother's Ball Blue Book and it is the first thing I recommend to people who want to get started in canning.

I'm a beginner canner as of the end of last summer. I canned four quarts of pickles last night.
