Staying Veg

To the ladies that have stayed vegan/vegetarian for many years...what keeps you that way? What motivates you not to stray?

For me, I've been finding it hard to remain veg even though I've educated myself extensively on all the reasons why this is the right choice.

I've been veg on and off for nearly a decade, and I hate all this back and forth that I do. My reasons for going back to eating some animal flesh are always so weak too! I'd like to one day get to the point where I can say that I am vegetarian for life.

Consistency is something that I strive for in all the areas of my life, so it frustrates me that I can't be that way with my ethics and dietary beliefs.

I don't feel like I have anything super helpful to say

i've been eating meatless for 8 years aside from occasional fish and my reasons are probably very similar to yours. I'm very much against factory farms but cannot afford to eat all local/grass-fed. The few times I tried to eat grass-fed beef while pregnant (for my iron) it upset my stomach horribly. And at this point eating chicken or whatever else just feels weird and gross

I try to eat very veg-heavy and low grain most of the time to ensure that I'm getting the nutrients I need.
