Default Bulletproof Tea

I'm interested in maybe trying this. I've seen recipes with just butter or ghee, recipes with coconut oil & recipes with MCT oil.

A)Are there any national or east coast brands of butter that you like for this?

B) What is MCT oil & what brands would you recommend if I were to go with that?

C) Anyone just do butter? just do coconut oil? just MCT oil? do all three? Etc.

thanks

You don’t need both MCT and coconut oil. If you already own coconut oil I would try it with that first.

I use coconut oil. A friend of mine uses Kerrygold organic butter - it's an Irish grass-fed butter. Whole Foods and Trader Joe's carry it. The European style butters are all higher fat content than domestic butter.

I know we have Kerry gold here but not sure if we have organic Kerry gold. That is so delicious. I think Land O Lakes or another brand also does a European butter but I'll have to compare prices & ingredients to see if they are compatible.

Coconut is better than MCT. But if you're dairy free and sensitive to coconut, then use MCT.

Kerrygold and New Zealand butter are going to grass fed or primarily grass fed.

If it's labeled European butter it's probably cultured.

Let us know how it turns out! I've been trying to make a bulletproof-ish London Fog, but haven't gotten it "right" yet.

It’s a latte made with earl grey tea. One of my college roommates got me into them - we just did a simple version adding a little sugar or honey and a splash of milk.

Does anyone have a favourite recipe to recommend? What if I don't do dairy? I've been wanting to cut my sugar consumption and been looking at keto stuff but the dairy and fake sugars are scaring me off.

I haven't tried yet, but I do see recipes where you can use whatever milk you want. I have some SO Delicious coconut milk l need to use up so I'll probably start with that.

For dairy free We use any type of tea (or coffee)
2 T coconut oil
2 T protein (collagen)
Honey or stevia

For some reason right now I’m craving lemon ginger tea

Keto is easy-ish to do with dairy. I don't know what you mean by fake sugars (i.e. does that include stevia, xylitol, etc. or just aspartame/sucralose), but Leanne Vogel's blog is great. She's completely DF and calls her BP coffee "Rocket Fuel Latte."
