Help with packable dinners the kids can eat in the car...
We have one night a week where things are tight and we have to eat in the car between activities (this is just for the summer). I'm sick of sandwiches! Looking for suggestions for packable dinners kids will eat that aren't too messy for the car. I'm gluten free, the kids can have anything (if they will eat it).

Pinwheels are a go to around here. GF tortillas are hard to come by, but not impossible. Use some sort of spreadable base (usually cream cheese or hummus here) and layer with meat, cheese, and greens. Roll up and cut. The spread will keep it sealed together.

Using a multi-compartment container makes getting into the food less messy and they balance on the lap better than separate containers.
like these http://www.amazon.com/EasyLunchboxes...ords=bento+box There are tons of bento box style options out there. Goodbyn's are awesome.

Re: Help with packable dinners the kids can eat in the car...
Go to this blog:
www.100daysofrealfood.com , and do a search for "kids' lunches" or "school lunch," or maybe "packable." She has a bunch of lunch ideas that would work for what you're needing, a lot don't need heating or refrigeration. We have these that I found at the grocery store (maybe it was Target ?). They're maybe a little cheaper than Bento boxes (Quite a bit cheaper at the grocery store than on Amazon!), and sorta the same idea (compartmentalized, at least ).
