Canning for Dummies
I want to make some apple butter to keep and give away. I have some pint sized mason jars, but I do not have a canner nor a pressure cooker.
Can someone tell me what to do? Do I need one of those things?

Re: Canning for Dummies
You can do it in a warm water bath. Boil the jars to sterilize, put hot apple butter in hot jars (don;t forget to leave some headspace), put the lids on and return to hot water. Boiling times vary by food type and elevation, so you might want to google it.

this is a apple sauce recipe I would think you could process the apple butter the same way.
