"Only Love Today"
I saw this article on Facebook today and it really spoke to me. I think it is such an important part of gentle parenting to first "parent" ourselves in the way that we wish to parent our children. I find when I'm kinder and show more grace to myself that it extends to my children and those around me. Truly it is putting that verse from Mark 12:31 to "love your neighbor as yourself" into action. We forget sometimes that we have to bask in the love and grace offered to us by our gracious Father and in turn love and be gracious to ourselves first. And then out of that flows the love, grace, and kindness to others. So a challenge for me is that on those days I'm finding myself not treating others, including my children, as I would like, I will take a minute to stop and remind myself to extend only love today. Will you join me? How can we help each other in this?
