Almond flour
What is the deal with almond flour and phytates? Is there such thing as almond flour made from sprouted or soaked nuts? (Available, for purchase, that is. I know I could probably make it myself.)

Re: Almond flour
I don't know of one. That's why I try to use my soaked almonds as much as possible. But we go through so much AF, I just can't keep up, so I buy the Bob's Red Mill stuff.

Re: Almond flour
Same with a vitamix, if you have one. It's the soaking and drying of the almonds that takes up the time.

Re: Almond flour
My homemade almond flour never turns out as well as the store bought stuff, even in my vitamix. And since blanched almonds are way more expensive, I just buy the blanched almond flour at the farmer's market for $4.99/lb, but I've heard Trader Joes now has BLANCHED almond meal/flour for $2.99/lb!

This page http://detoxinista.com/2012/04/make-...-almond-flour/ says you can make almond flour by using the slivered, blanched almonds at Trader Joe's ($2.49 for half a lb.).
