Re: My teeth are remineralizing.
I think the pink stuff does kinda have a licorice taste. It's the Ratanhia toothpaste, or something. The calendula version is a very different taste, and in a yellow package.

Re: My teeth are remineralizing.
Birch Xylitol is supposed to be the best. I think as long as it is 100% pure birch xylitol then you are fine.

Re: My teeth are remineralizing.
To clean teeth, they polish away a little of the enamel, too, and for some people, that is just too much and it can cause tooth sensitivity. I don't get tartar build up, so I don't need that kind of cleaning. It's just too much for my mouth.
(I don't have to use soap in the shower, either, because it's just too much for my skin. I am nearly odorless.) |

Re: My teeth are remineralizing.
Here is a link where Dr. Ellie talks about it. There are several blog entries on this page where it is mentioned. http://askdrellie.blogspot.com/searc.../baking%20soda

Re: My teeth are remineralizing.
It is a choice we need to make with the information we can get.

Re: My teeth are remineralizing.
I used Dr. Ellie's program for awhile and then did some more research on fluoride and decided I just wasn't comfortable with using it. There are so many options out there and so much to wade through! We still buy and use her mints and gum. My teeth are actually loose because I grind so much and I have cracked my teeth too. I spent over $1000 on a splint several years ago and it didn't help. I went to a new dentist when I cracked my last tooth and he said I had the wrong kind of splint. He wanted to sell me only that only cost $450. I don't have the money, so I am just trying to do whatever I can that doesn't cost a fortune to help my teeth.
My oldest daughter had terrible decay about a year ago. But it was related to severe vomiting and digestive issues (reflux) she was having. We have mostly solved the digestive issues now and she has not had more decay.

Re: My teeth are remineralizing.
My dh are decidedly against our family using fluoride for many reasons. Not only personal conviction but because I was raised not using fluoride and my teeth are in GREAT shape. Him, not so much. . . raised using fluoride, getting treatments but now. . . yikes. Bad situation! Well, was a bad situation. Since cutting out flouride and most soda (still has a few) and adding in flossing, his teeth are a ton better!
However, when we go to the pediatric dentist and they ask why we don't do fluoride, I simply say "I didn't use it and my teeth are fine. My dh got fluoride treatments and we spent over $10K on his teeth between 2004 to 2006." They usually go and can't think of anything to argue w/me But now my dh also thinks that they are trying to poison us (americans) via fluoride consumption. . . . me. . . . I dunno. . . not sure there is a "they" or an "us" yet but my dh is starting to rub off on me so I looking over my shoulder (figuratively) And I know not all agree and that's okay too
