This couch was expensive brand (i only know expensive bc I googled the brand and their couches start at $5000) that we got cheap at Goodwill. But in that case we had a gross looking old one, so I *had* one when I Ran into that one. But we needed a new couch immediately this time and I just couldn't figure out how to get one used for any decent price without the free that it has hidden odors.

We got a cheap one from IKEA. We definitely wanted cheap in case the cat struck again OR just bc we have animal(s) and children. It was the fake leather so EASY to clean. And sure enough the cat (who only has back claws) got scared adn jumped on and off the sofa and put tiny claws marks on it. It's not really noticable but I did say - and that is why we bought an inexpensive new from Ikea. So one thing I would factor in, what is your household like. Are you the type of home where you sigh and say and that is why we can't have nice things. Or do you plan to keep it for a long, long time.

I love ikea. We just got new curtains from there for $25 total for both panels. They may not be the best quality but IKEA things seem to last longer for us than Walmart things. Tho dh has a computer desk from them that he had before I met him. So its over 20 years old and still looks fantastic. Its glass and metal and like new looking.

Also, we are looking to rehome our cat if anyone is interested.
Hey, we're also looking to rehome our cat!

To me, Ikea IS "nice" and "fancy" Literally I've always grown up with thrift store furniture or stuff given to us for free, and sometimes occasionally it's been high quality, but more often than not, it's fallen apart Ikea is definitely higher quality than Wal-mart or Big Lots and the like d

We have the Hemnes bed, night tables and tall dresser. I love them!
We don't have night table lights, we have a cat who would knock them over and break them.

Do you have a furniture outlet or a freight type store? Around here, we have something called American Freight that sells decent quality furniture for discount prices.

That's great to hear! I looked on Ikea's website again yesterday and really liked them. My only hesitation is that I've had delivery issues w/ Ikea in the recent past, so... I'll need to work that issue out

Ugh, yes. Cats. We have to lock ours out of our bedroom at night for that very reason
