Communication ideas
We're fairly good at communication here. But I'm after ideas (or help on an idea) for those times when we're all flying in and out of the door and it's right at that moment that someone remembers what they wanted to talk about but that isn't an appropriate time but it's important and we want to come back to it.
I'm wondering about a notebook with a pen in the middle of the dining table. Kind of like a communication book? Where any of us can write stuff in and then that thing they were desperately wanting to tell me just as we're about to do something, doesn't get forgotten. Is this a lame idea? I think in the modern technology world the equivalent would be a group chat on WhatsApp 😂😂 but my children don't have phones.

Re: Communication ideas
I like the idea of a notebook. My DS tends to be private, so I tend to think of things that would work for him. He would be embarrassed by the notebook. A decorated tissue box where he could leave a private note would be perfect. I think the key is setting an alarm to remind you to check it daily.

Re: Communication ideas
Yeah I had wondered how to get around private things. Although they're quite good at coming to me for that at sensible times randomly enough.

Re: Communication ideas
I have a child who would be too embarrassed to write it in a common notebook for all to see. However she would have no problem asking to have Siri set a reminder for us to talk later.
Because of some memory issues I have I have started to keep a notebook w me. She could tell me and I could write it in my notebook. I reference it multiple times a day to help me stay on top of things. |
