When you hear a program or event is for "middle school students"
What grades does that mean to you?

6, 7, 8. Possibly 5th, too. Yeah, probably 5-8.

Grades 6 - 8, possibly grade 5, but that wouldn't be my initial assumption.

Re: When you hear a program or event is for "middle school students"
6-9. Middle school is 7-9 here so I would bring a 6th grader as well but not any earlier. I might bring older kids, too (high school aged), depending on if they were interested and what the program was.

Re: When you hear a program or event is for "middle school students"
I took my eldest to an afternoon youth group advertised for "middle school students." Age-wise she's in 6th grade. When I picked her up I asked her if she had a good time. She said yes but the leader told her it was for 7th & 8th graders.
I've always thought of middle school as 6th-8th, possibly 5th-8th. 7th-9th is junior high. |

Re: When you hear a program or event is for "middle school students"
My districts have always been 7-8 for middle school or jr. high. The terms are interchangeable here.
