To me k-6 is elementary and 7-8 is Jr. High which is the same as middle school. 9-12 is high school I would have expect 6-8 for an event billed as middle school.

My intermediate school was 6-8. We also called it Jr. High and Middle School. So clearly we use those terms interchangeably. I know other districts in the area did it differently though i have no idea of their breakdown.

She's been going to a youth group for 6th-12th that she really loves. So she's not sad at all about missing the one.

Our school district has two middle schools. One is 7th-8th. The other is 6th-8th. (The private schools are all K-8.) So I really think their wording was poor.
