Default What's your favorite egg pan?

I need a good pan for scrambled eggs. I mostly happy with my stainless steel and cast iron cookware for everything but eggs. I end up buying a small, cheap non-stick skillet every year or so to cook eggs. I know I can make eggs that don't stick in my stainless steel and my cast iron if I let the eggs get to room temperature and wait for the pan to get hot enough, but I don't have time for that and I need something non-finicky for my kids to cook with. The kids also need to be able to clean it easily, something they can't do with my cast iron.

So what's your favorite pan for scrambled eggs that gets most of the eggs to the plate and not stuck to the pan?

my cast iron.

I have a small cast iron that I use every single morning for eggs. I've never had them stick.

I use coconut oil as the non stick base.

I keep eggs on the counter so they are always room temp.

Subbing. We have a big cast iron skillet that is so heavy it never comes out (and would be way too big for a couple eggs). We use coconut oil in our stainless steel pain. It's okay, but sometimes I have to scrub more than others to get it clean. Wondering if there is a better solution.

My smaller cast iron is still too big for just a few eggs and I won't let my kids clean it.

How do you keep your eggs from sticking to cast iron? Like I said in my first post, my eggs have to be warm and the pan hot, and we need something we can make quickly. It's easier for the kids to use the spray stuff. Maybe if I get them to try different oils, like butter or coconut oil, it won't stick?

I'm not keeping my eggs on the counter.

Cast iron. Even though have several different sizes, I use my large one the most. I even use it just for one or two eggs because it's the one that's easiest to get to.

I just spray it with olive oil cooking spray. I don't have a problem with things sticking. It's a very well seasoned skillet.

I love cast iron and it's a dream to one day own a cast iron kettle.

My cast iron is old and we've never been able you get it to season just right and keep from sticking. Not with eggs anyway.

The only way i can get eggs not to stick to my cast iron is oil and a very hot pan.. I hate the taste of eggs cooked over high heat. So I never use my cast iron for eggs.

I don't like eggs cooked on high either. Maybe that's the problem. What do you use for your eggs?

I use a griddle, I don't ever have eggs stick on that. Someone gave me a quiche pan with a removable bottom, I use the rim of that to contain the eggs when I make omelettes. I do have to remember to butter the small rim where the eggs touch, but it's super easy.

Definitely you need a small one. My small one is really only ever used for eggs, so it's incredibly non-stick. I think if I also used it to cook other things, it'd be harder to keep as non-stick as it is.

I have 4 cast iron skillets -- all different sizes. And a cast iron dutch oven. I use all of them on a regular basis. In fact, they are really pretty much the only cookware I use.

Can you cook eggs on a lower heat in it? That is my biggest reason for not using my cast iron for eggs (I do have small pans) My eggs don't stick as long as the skillet is pretty hot but I hate the results. it also irritates me that none of our burners lay flat (darn electric stove) so like adding a fat doesn't always work either as it tends to pool..

I just use my stainless steel pan. They don't stick too bad. I have a steel scrubber to wash the pan with - gets everything off super easy.

Yep, I cook eggs at all temps, depending on how fast I want them to cook. My usual is medium to medium high. I've done medium low too when I wanted to slow the process down with no problems.

I cook on a flat top electric stove in case it makes any difference.
