Nightime teeth grinding 3yo
I've noticed dd grinds her teeth a little bit. I usually hear it like once a night or so and it's not that bad sounding. But the last week has been A W F U L.
It sounds so horrible and she is doing it SO MUCH! :shive I kow I can go to the dentist and have a night guard made. We have them made for ds (but as a space maintainer not for grinding his teeth) but our insurance doesn't cover much of her fees (she is a homeopathic, natural dentist) and it would cost $100 out of our pocket for a night guard. I *WILL* pay this but I wanted to see what my other options were first, if any. I was reading a bit online about teeth grinding and I read that it is very commonly triggered by stress. She has been sick off and on the last 10 days or so...Im wondering if maybe it is just related to that and will die back down... Ideas??

Re: Nightime teeth grinding 3yo
I've always read that it's a symptom of a parasite. Usually though there are several other symptoms that can accompany it - bed wetting, restless sleep, stomach pains, bowel issues, etc. If she isn't having any of those too, then I have no idea, but prayers for your little miss.

Re: Nightime teeth grinding 3yo
Punkin has done this for quite a while. I notice it more than others.
I asked their dentist when we were in last week. She said it's totally normal in kids. She said you can get a mouth guard, but does not recommend them because their mouths are still growing and changing so much. She had a theory but I can't remember exactly. I think it was something about it helping in the process of them learning what their mouths do, helping the new teeth come in, etc.

Re: Nightime teeth grinding 3yo
I just know my nephew (newly 6) just got a mouth guard for teeth grinding. He was grinding his teeth so badly he cracked a tooth and got an abscess.
And she already has very bad, brittle teeth so Im really about it.

We all have parasites. food grade diatomaceous earth will take care of it. It stopped Simon's teeth grinding.
