Re: Tylenol, Fevers, & Chickenpox
Believe me, I did not give him all that at once! You're right, cobluegirl...they probably would have cancelled each other out.

Re: Tylenol, Fevers, & Chickenpox
how aproppos
I am typing one handed because my fevrish 16mo fell asleep on my lap. I have been giving him tylenol, but I will stop now. I planned not to give him any during the day anyhow, as every 4 hours seemed just too much. That explanation makes a lot of sense. I've also been thinking about how tylenol can make him appear healthier than he is. So then we might not treat him like he's sick, and perhaps go out instead of keeping him home where he can rest.... thereby making it harder for him to recover. |

Re: Tylenol, Fevers, & Chickenpox
That's a good point about the tylenol - also, you could go out and spread the germs because he seems well.

The book is free, you have to pm momtezuma tutara (sp) on Mothering.com and ask her for it. you can donate to her foundation once you get the book.

Re: Tylenol, Fevers, & Chickenpox
First of all - thank you thank you thank you! for posting this info.
Second - all of this stuff refers specifically to Tylenol and it's generics, and occasionally less specifically to antipyretics... I can't see why it wouldn't apply to ibuprofen, but since it doesn't mention any other antipyretic...anyone have anything that doesn't *just* mention Tylenol? I'm going to be presenting this info to someone who's bound to mention Motrin as an alternative since it's not mentioned.

Re: Tylenol, Fevers, & Chickenpox
I'm really interested in the book mentioned earlier, too.
