Re: How much does your family spend on fireworks?
I just took a walk with my dog (that barks at fireworks). I didn't think about it being Saturday and people setting off fireworks tonight. She was so annoying! Brought her back home and walked a little more by myself. (I try and walk half an hour every night).
I now don't care for fireworks because it upsets my dog. A few more nights and they'll be over.

Re: How much does your family spend on fireworks?
Up here people do mortars in their backyard(the show kind of fireworks). It's common to spend around $500. I think the most we've spent is about $150. This year we're spending maybe $50

Re: How much does your family spend on fireworks?
We have a number of families in our area who set off fireworks. We look forward to it every year. We can sit in our backyard and watch various fireworks shows all around us on all the nights of July 4th weekend, and we love it.
So, I don't know who you local neighbors are who spent a lot of money on fireworks, but, whoever you are, I salute you! |

Amendment - $6.50
DD asked if we could get some and so we bought a few. She ended up being scared so we gave half to the neighbors |

Re: How much does your family spend on fireworks?
we spent about $25. Little man was happy. Daddy got his "pyro on" they lasted about 15 minutes & were flashy with little to no noise. Last night there were so many bangs, booms, etc. but we couldn't see anything from our windows (we were inside due to little man's bedtime). On Saturday I saw some from our upstairs windows & on Sunday, when we set ours off, we could see some through the trees but not from upstairs windows or over the trees.

Re: How much does your family spend on fireworks?
DH asked me to buy the fireworks this year because he always overspends. We typically top $70, but I kept it under $40. I don't like banging and shrieking, and neither does Eva, so I went for pretty colors instead. We got some of those cylinders that will whirl around and create the illusion of a flower if you put them on a hard flat surface, some other things with fun effects (monkeys in cars, pop-up pagodas, etc.), some Roman candles, rockets that make showers of colored sparks, and a multi-colored ground fountain for the finale. We also got a bundle of those sparklers that go off in stages, because we have a family tradition of writing our names in the air, but they turned out to be duds.

Pop -up- pagodas are the best! That and the snakes that you do when it is light.
