Default Nap suggestions?

Please be gentle with me, mamas....i feel like SUCH a ROOKIE!

As I recall with our big kids when they were little, I am just "rolling with" the kids' own rhythms. We are not ( & never have been) a super structured family. Baby is almost 9 months and toddler just over 2.5 years. Some of you may recall me stressing over toddler's diffisulties getting to sleep at bedtime. We DID quit doing a nap and then he started going to bed more easily at night.. well, now the last few weeks he seems very tired during the day. I would like to try to get him to nap after lunch. Mostly, i hang out with the littles in the living room and kitchen/dining room...and end up holding the baby while she naps after she falls asleep nursing. I had been laying her in her swing, but she has outgrown te swing...i have been very hesitant to try and move her to her pack & pkay in the bedroom for fear of her waking up

Question....especially if your baby and toddler were in a shared room...how did you get them to nap simultaneously?

I know for our toddler, his i creased need for sleep lately is likely temporary...but even if i could institute a "quiet time"?

I feel really gun shy like i am setting myself for a struggle...but i know i could REALLY use that time to accomplish some things

TIA

My kids napping never really looked like them both napping without me unless they happened to fall asleep .You could try a quiet time in big bed with both =maybe reading a story or having some soft music playing and then getting up if they both do fall asleep

Mmm. Yeah. Sometimes my baby and toddler nap simultaneously. But it's all unique isn't it, I struggle to imagine I have any advice.
Probably 51%+ of the time my 2.75 yr old falls asleep by himself, late in the afternoon, mostly on the couch. 49%- of the time he nurses in the mid-afternoon and falls asleep and I carry him up to the master bedroom and lay him on the bed there. My 1 yr old will nurse to sleep and then I will lay her on the bed in our other bedroom. At 9 months that would have been a floor bed. (Putting them over the sides and down into a pack and play seems more likely to wake them up?) Then I grab a diaper in case the toddler needs changing (so I won't have to go back into that room) and close the door.
Simultaneous naps don't let you get things done, but maybe one thing.
My eldest always napped on my back, my middlest napped on my back maybe 60% of the time. My youngest naps on my back a minority of the time. But it is still the best guarantee of me being able to get things done.

See, I think I gave zero useful advice on how to get the toddler to nap haha.

at that stage, I found that I needed the quiet and time time as much as the kids. So all three of us (mom, baby and toddler) would go in to the master bedroom and have a nice quiet cuddly time together. We usually read a story, then I nursed baby to sleep while toddler cuddled on the other side and sometimes toddler and I would also fall asleep, sometimes we wouldn't and just enjoyed the cuddle time together.

Once baby was nursed to sleep I was able to unlatch and let her nap and then either get up with toddler or, best case scenario toddler also fell asleep in that time and I would either go get something done or just sleep myself.

I have a 4 and 2 year old as well as a 7 month old. They nap all at the same time. This is our schedule:

11 am lunch
1130 nurse baby
12 pm Remind 4 year old to use the bathroom, fresh diapers for the younger 2
Quick snuggle and carry 4 year old to his room
Put baby on my back and snuggle 2 year old. We listen to soothing music and bounce on a yoga ball til they're both asleep.
Carry sleeping 2 year old to his room with his brother
Take baby to our bed where we sleep-nurse

It's a lot but it works for us and everyone gets a much needed nap! At bedtime I nurse the baby to sleep while my husband sits with the boys as they go to sleep

It's been awhile. My youngest is 11 but I remember laying down, nursing the baby, and reading to my toddler until he fell asleep. I would usually fall asleep, too, though.
