Page Numbers and Headers

I'm working on formatting a paper in Word. I'm having trouble inserting both the running head AND the page number in the stupid document, despite following the steps. Anyone know the secret?

What do you mean the secret? What problem are you having? What version of Word are you using?

Most current version of Word.

When I put in the running head, the page number disappears. When I put in the page number, the running head disappears. I need both of them in the header.

Yeah...following those directions was what got me in trouble for hours the first go around. Thanks to Ro, I got it figured out.

For page numbers, you want to put your cursor all the way to the right, and then hit Insert -> Page Numbers ->Current Location. And do the 'break link' to switch it to a different type of page numbering. Just in case you were wondering.
