Which DSL plan to get

I am finally, finally able to get DSL!!!!! No more dial-up!!!!

I am looking at two plans with my local phone co. :
up to 1 MBPS for $20 a month - or - up to 3 MBPS for $40 a month.

Part of me feels I should save every penny and go with the 1MBPS, part of me is afraid 1MBPS won't be sufficient (I'm a homeschooling mom), but then I'm wondering if the 3MBPS is worth $20 more per month.

Please share your opinions with me! Thank you!

We have the "slowest" option and it was great. We switched to DSL from cable internet and chose the slowest plan then and it wasn't much of a difference. I would save the money.

Can you watch any videos online? I am wondering if I'll be able to at least watch some of the educational videos that are 30 minutes or so.

We have the slowest connection, which I think is 0.75 MBPS.

We share the connection between 2 computers and still watch videos. Sometimes it's slow. Especially if both are watching vids.

But we manage.

We could use YouTube without any issues.

Thanks for the info.! I've decided to take the cheapest plan and figure I can always upgrade if necessary.
