Default Is laughing normal?

Just curious.. Is it normal for a 3 to to laugh or smile when being corrected or asked to stop? Ex: That hurts please stop *doesbt stop and laughs* I will help you stop * says "okaaaay" and laughs. Or "food stays on your plate" and laughs and throws/drops food.
Normal? I follow through with my words but the laughing feels so rude and rebellious to me! It's hard to not get irritated.

It is so infuriating to parents, but yes, it's normal.

That would make sense that it's a nervous thing. I laugh in uncomfortable situations too sometimes.
Thanks for the insight!

Well at least it's normal! I always feel like I need to address it but if I say "this is not funny" he says "yeah it is" and laughs more. Drives me nuts! So I've been ignoring it, thank you!

Me too! I always have! When I was a child I remember my mom being so mad at me bc I'd stand there with a silly smile on my face when she was mad at me! I never knew why I did that until it was grown up.

I have a girl who does this too. It took a long time for me to realize that she's prone to nervousness/anxiety, because so often she displays it this way. I'm afraid I have often responded in anger to her coping mechanisms.
