Default What does "working on opposite side of ch" mean?

I'm making my very first blanket. First the pattern had me do 206 chain stitches. Then 3 dc, skip a ch, 3 dc, skip a ch and so on for the first row. Now it says "working on opposite side of ch, ch 1, skip next ch, (dc in each of next 3 chs, ch 1, skip next ch) across." This is still under the heading RND 1. So..... how do I work on the opposite side of the chain? I guess this will make it doubly thick?

You just worked along the chain, like usual. Now, on the other side of that chain, where you just put those stitches, you're going to crochet into those same spaces, except on the other side of the foundation chain.

maybe pictures help.

You are working in a circle and not a row. Turn the piece and work in the same chains you just put those stitches into.
