Default Fall Planting?

Anyone planting for fall crops? I'm still putting in green beans and carrots, for a later summer harvest. I let the bok choy and lettuce go to seed, it will start growing on it's own. Oh, I did some fennel, too...apparently if you plant it in spring it will bolt and you'll get only flowers but if you do mid-summer it'll bulb. We'll see! I want to do peas, too.

I really want to do this this year, but I have no idea what to plant. Can I do lettuce? The lettuce I planted in the spring didn't come up at all.

Anyone have a good resource for fall planting?
I have peas and some beans. I've done both late in the season before but I'll have a good bit more space to fill and haven't decided what to fill it with.

Yep, lettuce for sure. With lettuce make sure you've just barely covered it with soil (it needs light to germinate) and keep it lightly watered each day until it come up.

We're running a small Autumn CSA this year and hopefully selling at the farmer's market, so yes I'm definitely planting for fall. I'm doing winter squash, peas, beans, corn (although I'm not holding my breath - corn is my nemesis), late season tomatoes and cukes, bunching onions, sweet potatoes, and mixed greens.

Could I do radishes, beets, kale and spinach? None of those came up this spring. Would it be too late to plant more zucchini?

I'd do the radishes, beets, kale, and spinach, can't hurt to try. Not sure about zucchini as I don't care for it, but squash would be too late here.

I'm doing lettuce & carrots this week. Not sure if I'll do anything else.

This was our first year with a garden and its not done well. Things are taking much longer to grow than they should. The tomatoes are producing some fruit but the plants have barely grown in height. Ditto with the cucumbers & herbs. Our pepper plants have flowered a couple times but no fruit and no growing in height. Everything LOOKS healthy...but it looks like it did a month ago. So I'm not sure I want to plant much this fall.

Planted some more southern peas and melons this morning. Will plant onions and salad greens after it cools off a bit out there.

Default Fall Planting?

We decided to skip spring/summer for starting our garden (besides a couple pots of tomatoes we've had growing since last summer fall I think). We are in central Florida though, and I've read that our gardening season actually starts in Sept (late Sept I think). We got our seeds in the mail last week - Malabar spinach, lettuces, bok choy-like plant, tomatoes, tomatillo, onions, lemongrass, lemon balm, marigold and another edible flower that helps with pests. We already had seeds for real spinach, peppers, zucchini, cucumber, tomato, carrots, beets, and basil.

We have been kinda terrible at gardening in the past, and fire ants invaded before, so I hope it turns out better this time. I've read up on companion planting, etc. and I'm excited.

ETA: Anyone doing raised beds or fabric pots? We have 2 60" fabric grow beds.
