Beginning Readers like Dick and Jane books?
I found this amazing collection of Dick and Jane stories at Costco a few weeks ago. Dd3 (6) loooves them. The pictures look grown up (to her) and the volume is separated into Real Chapters. We made a dictionary for a few sight words she kept forgetting (and struggled to sound out) and she has sat with that book any chance she has gotten and has read through it at least 4 times.
She is begging for more. The BOB books are too little kiddish but Dr. Suess has too many sounds and she gets overwhelmed. She seems to do best with stories that slowly add new words. Any ideas? The collection has most of the Dick and Jane stories.
