One of my favorite preschooler blogs
recommends Shepherding a Child's Heart, Raising Godly Tomatoes, Dobson, etc
I love the site for all of her ideas about "school" for little ones and we loosely do some of the "curriuculum" with DS1 and DD. I noticed a section on the site labeled "biblical discipline" and wanted to check it out. Now, I'm so disappointed. She is so strongly supportive of these methods that I feel confidant that she has lead other mothers to them as well. If I wasn't in a place of gentle, positive discipline, I would have gladly checked out her recommendations. I"m so frustrated by her ideas of "Godly" parenting that my whole opinion of her prechool ideas are clouded. Boo. |

Eat the meat, spit out the bones, if you can. Hopefully you'll still be able to get some good ideas for schooling without having to wade through too much punitive garbage. |

Re: One of my favorite preschooler blogs
I think I know exactly what website you are talking about. When I first realized that her parenting beliefs did not match mine I felt a little uncomfortable still reading her blogs and using the ideas that I found there. However, I just try to remember that I am not going to be in complete agreement with pretty much anyone in the world on everything. Like the pp said take the good and leave the rest. I am not going to that site for parenting and/or discipline help, I am going for creative ideas for helping my toddler learn.

Is it something you can gently address with the owner - just expressing your discomfort?
