What's for (Sunday) dinner?
I need some good ideas for quick lunches to fix for after church on Sunday. Like, 20 minutes or so. Our church is moving service times around and I know there are weeks where we aren't going to get out of there until 12:30 or so, by the time we get home the boys will be chewing their arms off.
I made spaghetti this week, sauce in the crockpot although I could also just reheat it. Any other good pasta sauce recipes where I could make the sauce a day ahead and then just reheat it and boil some pasta? Crockpot meals always work, but it gets kind of old sometimes and I don't like having to rush every Sunday to get it in the pot in time. I figure the better I get at having good meals ready the less I will give in to the "Pleaaaseee can we go to Panera?" begging. |

How about wraps that you can make the night before and keep in the fridge? Or you could put together melt sandwiches to put in the oven when you get home. Or keep meals in the freezer that just need to be heated.
Grilled cheese and soup Rice and beans Tacos or nachos Sausage and peppers Meatloaf (crock pot) Pot roast (crock pot) Waffles Chili (crock pot) The crock pot ones you can put together the night before in a ziplock and just put in the crock before you leave. |

Re: What's for (Sunday) dinner?
We are too busy on Sunday for proper 'Sunday dinner' so we have it on a Monday night usually.
On a Sunday we have leftovers, pizza or fried eggs or bacon on toast. Just quick easy things like that. If we have guests who I feel expect a 'proper meal' I do a beef or chicken all in one type stew in the crockpot.

Round steak in a skillet. Brown on one side on medium-high, flip and do the other side, turn heat to Medium, cover, and leave to cook in its own juices while you throw a veggie in the microwave or arrange some fruit. Cut steak open to check whether the center is no longer pink. Slice and serve as hot steak sandwiches.

Sunday's are perfect for brunches....
Keep a fruit and veggie platter ready to go in the fridge so that you can pull it out for the kids to snack on. Then stick a french toast casserole in the oven (there are some AMAZING french toast casserole recipes out there) or a breakfast strata. I've been known to use the pre-cooked bacon as a cheat to get it all on the table quickly..
