Making my own bread
We only eat sprouted grain bread and it's expensive! Has anyone made their own? Is it easy? I can cook well, but baking...... not so much.

I used to have a bunch of site bookmarked, but ofcourse that was on my now-fried laptop!
I will see if I can find any of them right now, but other wise I am so hopefully you can get an answer. ---------- Post added at 06:20 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:15 PM ---------- http://www.ezhealthydiet.com/sprouted-grain-bread.html This looks intersting-it's in the crock pot!! http://www.motherearthnews.com/Real-...ted-Grain.aspx Here's the one I was thinking of-from Mother Earth News. http://articles.urbanhomemaker.com/i...hp?article=265 I have found a lot of helpful articles at this website before, too. http://gnowfglins.com/2009/02/02/eas...routed-grains/ this looks interesting; I didn't investigate yet. http://www.suegregg.com/ I absolutely love this website-there might be some info there!

Re: Making my own bread
Thank you for sharing that. I have some kamut that I grind for bread baking (I use my vitamix with the wet blade - it works) and I am going to sprout the kamut using these directions: http://www.ehow.com/how_4454759_spro...paign=yssp_art
and make the bread. In case you are interested - I actually use a mix of grains that I grind for my bread baking - right not I have kamut, steel cut oats, rolled oats, brown rice, amaranth, millet, lentils and probably a few other things in my grinding mix. It is pretty dense and I usually mix it half and half with store bought organic unbleached flour. But, I have been wanting to sprout grains and that recipee sounds simple. The one where you sprout and then dry it and then grind it sounds lots more labor intensive.
