Anyone tried it? The flavors sound heavenly and I happen to be a cheese maniac!

Re: Ste. Martaen Vegan Cheese
What's citric acid?
And oooh! They have gouda! I love gouda. If anyone tries it let me know. So far all I've tried is Daiya and it is NASTY. |

Re: Ste. Martaen Vegan Cheese
I don't mind daiya if it is a sprinkle.
I still prefer Follow your heart for some things. But, honestly I just prefer using more veggies on pizza or beans on a quesidillas. Cheaper and easier.

Re: Ste. Martaen Vegan Cheese
short answer--while it can come from other sources outside the US, withint he us citric acid is corn derived
long answer--when boiling corn syrup during processing, a sludge forms on the top. It is scraped off, dried to a powder, and *that* is citric acid

Re: Ste. Martaen Vegan Cheese
ugh.. it should be illegal for them to call that citric acid. i wonder if it actually bears any organic similarities to the citric acid our bodies produce.. or the kind you find in citrus fruits. to call a corn derived product citric acid is really misleading.
