Which cell carrier to use?
We currently have T-Mobile. I've had them for most of the years I've had a cell phone, with a break in the middle at I think Cingular? (Now it's AT&T, I think?)
We might be shopping for another carrier soon, though. So, who do you have and how do you like them?

Re: Which cell carrier to use?
We have Verizon right now, but we plan to switch to Straight Talk or another provider when our contract expires.

I love Straight Talk! DH and I have both switched and cut our phone bill in half.

I have Sprint. I'm just waiting to be done with them and switching to Straight Talk, which my dh has already switched to.

Re: Which cell carrier to use?
I love T-Mobile. But I do know around here, you want to check the coverage maps and ask people how their reception is....

Re: Which cell carrier to use?
Yeah, I've liked T-Mobile. It's a coverage issue that they won't be able to fix for a year.
Sounds like Straight Talk is the one to check out.

My parents switched to Straight Talk 6-7 mos ago and love it. If I could get a GOOD smart phone with Straight Talk, I would so make the switch! Last time I looked, the phone options were not good.

Re: Which cell carrier to use?
Hmm, I hadn't looked that far into it yet. Will definitely check. Though, because we have 4 phones on our plan, it didn't look like it would save us very much.

Our bill should drop about $80 per month if we go with the unlimited data/talk/text plan. That's a significant change for us. We have 2 lines. It would be a $95+ savings if DH can use one of the "limited" plans. I use my phone way regularly for FB, GCM, etc.

Re: Which cell carrier to use?
That's a pretty significant savings.
It looks like we'd only save about $10-$20 for the 4 of us using Straight Talk. Each one of us has different needs and none of them are met by their cheaper plan. Does anyone have experience with Virgin Mobile? They look like the cheapest option that will meet our needs, but only by about $10. So, if they aren't very good, then it's not a big deal to try another. I think the next best is Sprint, then Verizon, and last is AT&T which is quite a bit more for what we need.

Re: Which cell carrier to use?
I was just thinking I should ask if there are others that I overlooked. I will go check it out.

Re: Which cell carrier to use?
We have Sprint. It's not cheap, but it meets all our needs. It would pry run your family about $200 a month. Have you looked at your discounts from J's work?

Re: Which cell carrier to use?
We just switched from Straight Talk to Sprint. I had Sprint for years before we moved to Sout America, and was totally happy.

Re: Which cell carrier to use?
I have Virgin Mobile! I'm very happy with it, haven't had any service problems and things seem pretty normal compared to Verizon who I had previously.
I think they use Sprint's network for coverage. |
