Can Someone Tell Me A Bit About
Ted Tripp?
I was skimming through his book, Shepherding a Child's Heart (I think), when I was at the bookstore today. My first instinct was to buy it, tear it up right there, then throw it in the garbage at the store and tell them it was only good as garbage. As I was looking through his book, he was saying that he was not advocating punitive punishments as that was abusive. But then he was listing the traditional Bible verses that people use to jusitfy spanking. (Namely, if you don't beat your child, he will die.) It didn't seem too bad on the surface, but the icky feeling just wouldn't go away. Does his definition of punitive not match up with mine? In the end, I did not buy it to rip it up. I didn't feel like wasting the money.

All this could be just a dream so it seems I was never much good at goodbye. |
