Re: Teach your child
I really liked the 'full hands'. I need to use that in general pick up.

Re: Teach your child
I think 10 minutes is unrealistic, but I like the idea of this method. I just tried it on my bedroom, it took me 20 minutes and that was with most everything being clothes or belonging in other rooms, but it felt like the 20 minutes went by quickly. Now I have to deal with the huge pile of stuff that goes in other rooms.

Re: Teach your child
That's pretty much how we do it, but it still takes 3 days.

Re: Teach your child
We've done this twice now. Yes, 10 minutes is unrealistic. I gave them a bit more time, but I set the timer for each step and divided step3 into"belongs" and "don't belongs". When the timer went off, we were done. They are almost 6 and 4.5 and they did it themselves and they made a huge difference in the room! They were very proud and excited to just do 10 minutes every day for an always clean room. It was really helpful to tell them to do only the one step and ignore everything else.

Re: Teach your child
Especially with the kid "helping" then like 30 seconds for it to look like a tornado threw up again...
Honestly if their is one thing I could change about our house it would be the girls bedroom size. It is just too small. If we had another play area I'd be finebut we don't and there is barely a two feet walk space between the bed and door. We have paired her stuff down to soooo little and still I feel like I'm always dealing with a disaster.
