Egyptian Cotton or Sateen bedsheets?

Which one do you prefer and why? Is one better than the other? Softer? Or is it just different? If so, how?

Anyone know?

If you could buy one or the other, which one would it be?

We have Egyptian Cotton sateen sheets.

Egyptian cotton refers to the cotton used.

Sateen refers to the weave.

Okay, then my next question: if I definitely go with Egyptian cotton, do I also definitely want to go with sateen or is whatever the other options are just as good?

I think the sateen are the nicest a very cottony silky texture very nice. Pima Egyptain cotton is not as "silky soft" but its more durable. Truth fully we have hd at least one pair of satee nsheets gets destroyed in the wash. They are well worth it though and can be found at very affordable rates.

IME all of my sateen sheets have gotten 'pilly', so i prefer the standard weave....

it may just be not getting a high enough thread count

ours are above 500ct I can't remember exactly what but they deffiently do not pill. DD are pima and they also dont pill I can't remember the count on hers I think they were like 300+

I have never seen sateen above 300tc pill, but I have seen it do so in 220tc sheets.
