help with sleeping for an almost 7 year old
My best friends little girl will be 7 in December. She's been having some sleep issues for some time & mom has asked me if I know of any supplements that can help. She OK'd me asking here. She sleeps on their bedroom floor & has for some time. They've been trying to transition her to her own room without success. Their house is really tiny (a converted garage) so they can't really reconfigure their living space very well. About 6 months ago she was asking for help & I think they couched the room transition for now. She's been waking up scared for some time. Is this the age of night terrors?
Are there any supplements that might help her sleep through the night &/or help with waking up scared? I've recommended Valerian Super Calm (I have told her that this one can backfire as some people are hyped rather than calmed by iValerian), Chamomile Calm, & Calms4Kids. She's read up on Melatonin but is concerned about some of the mixed reviews & possible nightmares. Anything else that might help? Thanks. |

Re: help with sleeping for an almost 7 year old
Have they considered d pinworms being at play?we use eiatomaceius earth when dd2 is having a rough time sleeping or having a lot of nightmares, a day or two (and we continue for a few weeks) of it seems to help so much. We know she has yeast overgrowth, and suspect that she may deal with more nightmares and anxiety when pin worms get out of hand as well . Either way the diotomaceous earth seems to balance her gut when diet alone isn't doing it.

I don't think there's one thing that scared her. She's been talking about sleep problems with her for about 2 years now but never mentioned the scared part until recently. She's almost always slept on the floor in their room. by "mag" you mean magnesium? & by kids calm do you mean this? http://www.vitaminshoppe.com/p/natur...5#.VEvX8vnF_ng Calms4Kids doesn't contain magnesium so that's why I'm asking. You think Magnesium might help though? Thanks. |
