What pain reliever to take?
I really don't take pain relievers very often, but recently read this article about ibuprofen and told DH to stop taking it. He takes it probably 1x/week for foot pain and I take it 1-2x/month for cramps or a headache.
Now I'm reading this article about acetaminophen. The friend on FB that posted it said her chiropractor said taking it is like swallowing razors and the damage it does to the liver is astounding . So what do you all take when you need an over the counter pain reliever and why?

Re: What pain reliever to take?
Following this thread. We try to minimize meds of all kinds but it's hard to oh so easy when dd has menstrual cramps and ds has cross country running inflammation. I read a similar article to the first one, but haven't heard the negatives of the second. So i'm following along.

Re: What pain reliever to take?
Turmeric is another one, ant inflammatory and supposed to relieve pain.dh tried it for sciatica and it seemed to work. Google 'golden paste'.
I need to stop taking paracetamol. I've just taken both paracetamol and ibuprofen after waking with a terrible headache. in my life so far I have taken too much paracetamol. I get lots of headaches, and in pregnancy I get sciatica and Spd. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

I use this. It's not strong enough for a bad sinus headache but works well for mild ones. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Re: What pain reliever to take?
After ease works really well for menstrual cramps also. As does.switching to a cup or sponge or cloth pads instead of conventional or cotton (even organic cotton)pads/tampons. For foot pain depending on type u can use things like bio freeze or deep blue. And for headaches there are a ton of essential oil products.
We try and save Tylenol or ibuprofen for the rare occasion when someone is sick and very uncomfortable or when other things are failing

Re: What pain reliever to take?
A study linked acetaminophen to asthma in children. That was what got my attention. I still use it but this is exactly the sort of thread I need to read.

I use massive doses of Vitamin C.
Sodium ascorbate (cheap) and Lypospheric Vitamin C

Re: What pain reliever to take?
I try to keep it to a minimum and just deal with my daily pain, but I take Ashwagandha or Turmeric. I used to pop Tylenol quite often but worry about liver damage now that I know there are other things out there.
