Re: SO DH want to go "gluten free"
This. I agree that there are bigger issues at hand and that his childhood play a huge role in how he processes food issues today. However to suggest that he deciding he'd rather go out and eat a hamburger than cook a free range chicken breast and make a salad as "naughty" seems a bit over the top. It a bit eye rolling too me yes.. A bit frustrating as I feel like his commitment is very fickle despite this being HIS idea. However again he is an adult he is not allergic to any of these less than better choices he isn't using money we can't afford to spend. (actually it seems like he used his birthday money )
I'm back and now the majority of his meals will come from my cooking and while he can be picky he isn't mean or "naughty".

Re: SO DH want to go "gluten free"
I don't think she meant anything by saying he was a naughty boy. I think she was just kinda being tongue-in-cheek. Her response is kinda late in the thread, and I think she is being light hearted over it. No real condemnation meant. At least, that is how I took it.

Re: SO DH want to go "gluten free"
It was me. I did not mean to offend you, him or anyone and I'm sorry if I did. What you told, just reminded me of my own HD who very well could have done very much the same. I don't condemn him either, and I even do not do much about it (I have seen I can't), but I see it as a kind of a childish response, not so much to me but to childhood food issues. He really has had his share of them.
The only thing I can do is to cook as well and as healthy as I can. Talking about healthy eating does not work at all. And every time when I find "evidence" of junk food things in the car or somewhere else, I bite my tongue and try to see the little boy who is taking revenge at his mom's dietary terrorism. By calling your DH a naughty boy I wanted to let you know that I felt for you, because I have been there. I know the frustration. And like the previous poster said, it was also tongue-in-cheek. Your DH probably isn't any naughtier than mine, ahd he is not a bad person at all. |
