Re: Help me make her stop barking
Glad I found this thread as we have a barking puppy. He only barks when he wants to play of if he is outside and hears people walking past and talking, but it can drive us nuts....especially when he's inside as it seems so much louder. Will watch those links later

Re: Help me make her stop barking
My dog used to bark a TON. He's not nervous, he learned it where he was born. The breeder kept her dogs outside and liked that they barked a lot (to keep unwanted wild animals and unwanted people away). Dogs are extremely social creatures and WANT to fit in with their "pack." We taught him that our pack doesn't like unecessary barking. The cats are not a threat. Deer ARE (to my flowers). Strangers he can bark at. People that I welcome he cannot bark at.

So, she's gotten more exercise the last few days, and she's not doing perfect but she is doing better.

Re: Help me make her stop barking
Two off the cuff questions/thinking out loud things:
1. Has she recently been dewormed? (needs to happen 2x per year - not just for heartworms) 2. With the changes at home, does she have her own space/room/cage she can be sent to and relax/regroup? |
