Anyone use the Good and the Beautiful?
I’m thinking of using it. Or if you decided not to, why not? Or if you used to use it why did you stop?
Mostly looking for my 9th grader but considering the lower levels as well.

Re: Anyone use the Good and the Beautiful?
We are! We just finished History 1 with the boys (grades 9 & 4). We are anxiously waiting for HS LA1 and History 2 for fall.

Can you share what you love about it as well as any disadvantages or people it might not be a good fit for?

Re: Anyone use the Good and the Beautiful?
I really like that it is open and go. I love that we aren't stuck in ancients for a year. We moved through history all year and will do it again in different areas next year.
I did feel it was a bit light for 9th grade. However, the fb groups and Jenny's website suggest going through 2 history levels per year for high school. We are not doing that. There is a fb group for middle school/high school. The audio recordings are a bit cheesy, however they present a TON of good information in a format that is not me reading out loud. You can print the transcirpts to read aloud or alone if you prefer. Might try that next year. Despite my best intentions, we did not do the memorization. I am anxiously awaiting a shipping notification for Year 2 and high school language arts. I also ordered typing 1 & 2.

Re: Anyone use the Good and the Beautiful?
I'm not using it as a core curriculum, but I have 3 notebooks (handwriting, creative writing and nature) that I'm using over the summer.
I'm pleased with the quality, content, creativity & price & have written extensively about it in the June Chat thread.
